D.R. Luckhurst has been the butcher here for some 27 years and has been a huge support to Blue Egg Catering.
Sourced from Natural Farms of Bodiam, then pigs we use on our hog roasts are Landrace or Landrace cross. This breed of pig is long and lean and produces excellent pork for a hog roast.
Using Romney Marsh breed of Lamb, the meat has a unique flavour due to the sheep grazing on natural grasses and samphire of the salt marshes. This produces a marbled meat with a sweeter richer flavour.
Using only British native breeds of Beef cattle from Norfolk and Suffolk, the rolled fore rib of beef is perfect for roasting on a spit. the 7.5 – 8 kilo rib joint serves up to 20 plated portions.
Sourced through Natural Farms the whole chickens are free range using 3 – 4 kilo birds on the rotisserie spit. Sausages, Burgers, other BBQ speciality items
